Cumberland Falls State Resort Park
Known as the "Niagara of the South", the waterfall forms a 125-foot wide curtain that
plunges 68 feet into the gorge below. The mist of Cumberland Falls creates the magic
of the Moonbow, only visible on a clear night during a full moon. This unique
phenomenon appears nowhere else in the Western Hemisphere!

flowing mountain streams as it descends 600 feet into the river gorge.
Cumberland Gap National Park
The story of the first doorway to the west is commemorated at the national park, located
where the borders of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia meet. Carved by wind and water,
Cumberland Gap forms a major break in the formidable Appalachian Mountain chain.
From 1775 to 1810, the Gap's heyday, between 200,000 and 300,000 men, women, and
children crossed the Gap into "Kentuckee."
